How vendor vetting works

Here is exactly what Browncord Uganda asks of a vendor, who looks at it, and what the badges and tiers you see on vendor pages mean.

The steps

  1. 1

    The vendor uploads their documents

From their business settings a vendor uploads two PDF files: their business registration certificate and their tax certificate.

  2. 2

    The documents go into review

Once both files are in, the vendor's documents are marked Pending and they start on the Basic tier. If a document is missing or incomplete, the vendor is told the required documents are not all there yet.

  3. 3

    The Browncord Uganda team decides

The documents are either Approved, or Rejected with written feedback. A vendor whose documents are rejected can correct them and upload again.

  4. 4

    Escrow-ready vendors accept secure payments

A vendor must accept Browncord Uganda's escrow payment terms before they can receive booking requests. Vendors who have done so show an Escrow Ready label on their page.

What the Verified badge means

The green tick next to a vendor's name, and the "Verified" label on vendor cards, mean the Browncord Uganda team has marked that vendor as Verified. Vendors without the tick may still be listed while they complete the steps above.

Verification tiers

Once a vendor's documents are approved they hold a tier. The tier affects how prominently the vendor appears in listings:

  • Basic Normal visibility
  • Standard Boosted visibility
  • Premium Top priority placement
