The Month of October

October (Oct.) is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar, coming between September and November. It has 31 days. The name comes from the Latin word octo for "eight". It was the eighth month of the year before January and February were added to the beginning of the year.

It’s the sixth of seven months to have a length of 31 days.

This month has several   events according to different calendars types, i.e.:-

1. The Catholic calendar the month is known to be the month of Holy Rosary.
2. In the Gregorian calendar it’s the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
3. In the Gregorian calendar it’s the World Blindness Awareness Month.
4. On the 4th October in the Gregorian calendar is the world Animal Day.

And in Kenya October is one of the special months of the year, here are the list of national events in Kenya in this month.

1. October 20th is the Mashujaa Day - Mashujaa is a Swahili word for ‘Heroes’. Heroes’ Day, in Kenya the day is observed as a public holiday to honor all those who contributed towards the struggle for Kenya’s independence or positively contributed in some way.
2. 10th October is the Huduma day (Utamaduni Day) - The day has been set aside to celebrate the country’s rich cultural diversity and heritage.
3. 24th October is the Diwali day.
